Selective, long-acting amylin receptor agonist (LY3841136) designed for once-weekly dosing. Studied for appetite and weight-management signaling in metabolic research.
Eloralintide (LY3841136) is an investigational, selective amylin receptor agonist developed by Eli Lilly for once-weekly dosing. Amylin is a pancreatic hormone released alongside insulin after a meal; it signals satiety and slows gastric emptying through hindbrain pathways that are separate from GLP-1, GIP and glucagon signaling. That separation is why amylin agonists are studied on their own and alongside incretin agonists such as tirzepatide.
In a 48-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 2 trial in 263 adults with obesity or overweight (without type 2 diabetes), published in The Lancet, mean body-weight reduction ranged from 9.5% to 20.1% across dose groups versus 0.4% with placebo (efficacy estimand). Lilly has since moved eloralintide into phase 3, and a separate phase 2 study is evaluating it alone and with tirzepatide in adults with type 2 diabetes. Eloralintide is not FDA-approved.
