Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water) is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. The benzyl alcohol inhibits microbial growth, extending the shelf life of reconstituted peptides to 4–6 weeks when refrigerated.
