Human Chorionic Gonadotropin · Glycoprotein Hormone
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. Studied in LH receptor and Leydig cell models.
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone with structural homology to LH (luteinizing hormone). It activates LH receptors on Leydig cells in the testes to stimulate testosterone production and on granulosa cells in the ovaries to support follicular development, making it a key tool for reproductive endocrinology and testosterone axis research.
